Welcome horse lovers! I'm so excited to share my new blog and revamped website with you! Previously Redbird Farm, Harmony Horse Center is dedicated to being a reliable source for horsey education, information, and entertainment.
I'm Jill, and I've been immersed in the horse world for over 35 years, starting with riding lessons at the age of 13, and leading up to being a horse owner, trainer, and riding instructor. Redbird Farm started unofficially in 2014 with one student, and grew to 25 students in a few short years. I have held summer camps, birthday parties, and lots and lots of lessons since that first student. I plan to continue with lessons and I hope to expand into providing some services online as well. This may be in the form of courses, ebooks, blog posts, or videos, and maybe a little of everything.
My family has gone through some big life changes in recent years, and I've been feeling a little like I'm entering a new era. That has led to a desire to rebrand and change things up a little. I've been considering a name change for a while, and it felt like a good time. Harmony reflects my philosophy on training and being with horses. I believe that our relationship with our equine friends should be a harmonious one and I try to bring that belief into all of my teaching, so that I create in my students a generation of horse people who will spread the values of heart centered training in all that they do.
Love of the horse is the heartbeat of Harmony Horse Center. It is what brings my students to me and it is what keeps me going in this business. Caring for horses is a lot of work, and it has to be done even in the heat, rain, cold, and ice and snow. It is time consuming and doesn't allow for much free time, but it is very rewarding and horses give so much to us. I hope you'll follow along on the next leg of my journey in the horse world, and I hope I can share with you some of the lessons, stories, and joy I find in the daily routine of life with horses.
